The Park Restaurant in Highland Falls has quite the comeback story! After being shuttered for several years, this beloved local spot officially reopened on May 22, 2025, thanks to the vision of three enterprising partners: Marko Guzijan (the mastermind behind Beacon’s Hudson Valley Food Hall), Matt Jablonski (an Air Force veteran with nostalgic ties to West Point), and Jeremy James (a talented pitmaster who runs Smok’d Kitchen). These guys have been working since last summer to breathe new life into the 451 Main Street location, partnering with the West Point Association of Graduates to make it happen.

What makes The Park particularly charming is that they’re taking a wonderfully humble approach – they want the community to tell them what kind of restaurant they should become. They started small with just the bar area and front dining room of what will eventually be a 78-seat restaurant, and their initial menu focuses on James’s specialty: those mouthwatering Cornish hens that have been perfuming the neighborhood from their outdoor fire cooking. The aroma was so enticing that someone literally tried to walk through the kitchen to get some before they were even open!

The restaurant operates Wednesday through Sunday, serving everything from buffalo wings and chili to rib sandwiches, and they’re planning to add weekend brunch this summer. Plus, they’ve got a TopGolf machine to keep you entertained while you wait for your food – because nothing says “modern small-town dining” quite like practicing your golf swing between bites of perfectly smoked Cornish hen!  Plus their smash burgers are a big seller so stop by for a great meal!
