In addition, Donjito’s secluded back patio holds up to 45 people and has a retractable covered pergola, beautiful garden views and a soft harbor breeze for the most perfect outdoor dining experience.

Enjoy the most beautifully prepared dishes, the vast selection of wines, tequilas and creative cocktails and the chic décor for an unforgettable night at Donjito.

Right in the heart of Mamaroneck Village on Mamaroneck Avenue sits DonJito, an upscale yet totally relaxed Latin fusion restaurant that somehow manages to feel both fancy and like your cool friend’s house at the same time. Part of the Jito Hospitality Group, the place celebrates the culinary traditions of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Spain all under one roof — a Latin greatest hits album you can actually eat.

The menu is gloriously ambitious and refuses to be put in a box. You’ll find mofongo sitting comfortably next to paella, churrasco rubbing elbows with Latin-inspired sushi rolls, and what regulars swear is one of the best burgers around. They source their meats and produce from regional farms and use sustainable seafood, so the food not only tastes good but you can feel reasonably decent about eating it. The bento box for two gets rave reviews, and the cocktail menu — loaded with creative margaritas, sangrias, and wines — is the kind that makes you accidentally stay three hours longer than planned.

The atmosphere is a big part of the draw too. Inside, the walls are exposed brick dressed up with large hand-painted artwork, feel-good music fills the room, and there’s bar seating, high tops, and proper dining room tables to suit whatever mood you’re in. Out back, a secluded patio with a retractable pergola, garden views, and a soft harbor breeze holds up to 45 people and sounds like an absolute dream on a warm evening. It’s no surprise DonJito has racked up multiple OpenTable Diners’ Choice awards for Best Latin restaurant — this place is the real deal.
